Even Our Favorite Food Writer Has a Tiny Apartment

Mark Bittman is the darling of The Times’ Dining section; a treasured sidekick of Batali and Vongerichten; and America’s foremost home cook, with a conscience. Pictured above in his 7' x 8' kitchen in his New York apartment.

Mark Bittman likes to shop at Fairway on 74th Street before heading 25 blocks uptown to his 1 bedroom apartment that he shares with Kelly Doe (also of the NY Times).

Outside of the tiny kitchen, the apartment is decorated in classic Upper West Side style with floor to ceiling bookshelves. He was born in Manhattan and grew up in Stuyvesant Town.
